Encouraging Words from Mary McCarty
Boca Raton, FL – In a quote published today in the Palm Beach Post, Mary McCarty said, “…someone should come in with new ideas. People want us to continue all services without paying for it.”
Karl Dickey, Libertarian candidate for the 2010 race for Palm Beach County Commission, has put forth responsible new ideas and feels the time is right for the public to embrace those ideas. Mr. Dickey expects to be elected to Mary McCarty’s seat on the commission as she will be term-limited out of office.
Some of those ideas are allowing senior citizens the option not to pay the school tax found on their property tax bill, dramatically reducing the county government’s budget resulting in dramatically lower property taxes, encouraging the county sheriff to prioritize his focus on crimes with actual victims, and improving the education for Palm Beach County students.
Karl Dickey said this morning, “It is encouraging to see Mary McCarty embrace the notion of bringing in someone with new ideas to her seat on the county commission. The status quo we have seen over the past several years has brought us to this point of crisis. The county commission has, for too long, engaged in reckless spending that we will continue to pay for years to come. New ideas will not come from the same, conventional parties, but from fresh blood. An responsible outsider like myself can bring about the change Palm Beach County needs to get back on its feet and act responsibly when times are difficult and when times are good.”
