Karl Dickey Files Appointment Papers With Crist
Boca Raton, FL – Karl Dickey, 2010 candidate for Palm Beach County Commission, sent the official paperwork to Florida Governor Charlie Crist to be appointed to the Palm Beach County Commission today via overnight mail and facsimile.
Mary McCarty resigned from her District 4 seat on the Palm Beach County Commission yesterday and was originally scheduled to be term-limited out of her office at the November, 2010 election. Mr. Dickey is currently the only one filed with the Supervisor of Elections office to be on the ballot during that election.
Mr. Dickey said this afternoon, “I am truly saddened that Mary had to leave office this way. She helped us with various libertarian-minded legislation and she will be truly missed. Our country was formed on libertarian principles and I look forward to adding a positive dynamic to the commission we can all be proud.”
Mr. Dickey has been chairman of the Libertarian Party of Palm Beach County since 2005 and chairman of the Libertarian Party of Florida since 2007. Other projects Mr. Dickey has been involved in helping are The Nature Conservancy, serving on the financial steering committee to elect Bill Glass to the Boca Raton City Council, Fairness For All Families, Palm Beach County Term Limits Committee, Covenant House Florida, Kids in Distress, Boys Town of South Florida, Anthony Robbins Foundation, Second Amendment Coalition of Florida, Boca Raton Pilots’ Association, the Surfrider Foundation of Palm Beach County and many other organizations.
