Yesterday, July 17, 2016, 29-year-old Gavin Long, an African American man of Kansas City, Missouri, is accused of exchanging gun fire with law enforcement on in East Baton Rouge, Lousiana. Long was in Baton Rouge to celebrate his birthday with his family and was walking down the street with a long gun strapped to his back. Although this was legal to do in Louisiana, police arrived and shortly thereafter, gun fire was heard and Long was dead along with two city police officers and one sheriff’s deputy killed as well as three other law enforcement shot and expected to recover. At this hour, we do not know the details of how the exchanged between Long and law enforcement went down so we look forward to viewing and listening to dash cams to see who was at fault.
